EMILY LANDER

artist statement

I resonate with Carl Jung, when he said' I have never entirely freed myself of the impression that this life is a segment of existence which is enacted in a three-dimensional box like universe especially set up for it' Ever since I was a fairly small child, I have always felt that somehow there was more to and beyond the the 3D accepted 'box' of the world I was living in.

As an adult this feeling has not left me, in fact my interest and inquiry into what may lie 'beyond', or what I would now call Quantum Consciousness and what lies 'within' has only grown stronger and my work is a manifestation and reflection of this.

ABOUT MY WORK

 My work is Abstract/figurative and

the substrates and mediums I use are varied to best suit the work in hand.

Colour is a major part of my process, reflecting what I feel is the 'vibrational' message or meaning of the work. I work intuitively and find that often whilst developing a work, there are multiple possibility's and 'questions' thrown up. Frequently leading to a series of seperate works exploring and expanding on my original line of pursuit. I draw, produce many mono prints and more recently have been making digital and analogue collages.
